"You Smile"

Peggy-san's newest slogan, "you smile". When the nurses & guests enter her room, she demands, "you smile, I want positive people, no negative"! Then she creaks out an exagerrated smile for herself!
She was pleasantly surprised by the arrival of her son, Bill, from Florida. He and his daughter Jessica (from Atlanta) came by yesterday, that really made Peggy-sans day!
We met with the team doctors and her diagnoses is great! The swelling in her brain is going down, proof by her progression of movement. She is lifting her left leg and is able to stand strongly on her right (good) leg. In her therapy, her left leg is braced and she is walking down
the parallel bars! The OT (occupational therapy) and PT (physical therapy) people are sooooo
wonderful. That room looks like a gym, serious workout equipment, even a real car to practice getting in and out of!
We have begun a ritual, I spend the evenings with my mom. I am there at 3pm everyday. She is in PT/OT throughout the morning and afternoon. We have dinner together (yummo-NOT to her) she shares her meal with me. Peggy-sans doesn't have much of an appetite, unfortunately, I do! Actually, I think the hospital food is good. Of course, that could be because I wasn't in a kitchen cooking it and it is served on a plastic tray! Friends have brought in lots of fruit and rice-balls for Peggy-san, she's happy about that!
